Emilicious

Here is the most Amazing, Beautiful, Sweetest girl in the whole world singing the National Anthem at the Utah Jazz game last night...

Emily you are truly Outstanding! We are so proud of you and we love you so much!!!

For those of you who do not know, Emily is 15 years old and is Craig's niece. She is one of our favorite people, always nice to everyone, fun to hang out with, funny and goofy, and responsible.

WE LOVE YOU EMILY!!!

(try to just listen, I had kids sitting on my lap so the video is shaky and might make you sick, ALSO the "oh say" is missing because my stupid camera wouldn't start recording).

More Pics from the Jazz Game

We had a great excuse to go see a Jazz game as a family when Emily was chosen to sing the National Anthem. Plus our tickets were only $3 a piece so it was a great deal (you can probably tell from our pics that they were cheap-o seats!)! Our family has gone to professional games together before, but we haven't ever taken the kids to a national league game, so this was kind of a first for them. It was a little loud, but they had a great time! And Chenylle came with us as well. It was great!

And did I mention what an amazing job Emily did????

Halloween Adventures

We had a stress-free run-of-the-mill halloween. We had fun hanging out at the house during the day, then had our traditional chili dinner, and after dinner the kids got all dressed up and we took them trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. We have always done things like trunk-or-treats in the past, so we thought it would be fun to take the kids around the neighborhood for a change. We had a great time!

The kids were so cute when we went trick-or-treating. At most houses they would say "trick-or-treat" so quietly no one could hear them. Then suddenly at one house they both yelled really loudly "trick-or-treat, smell my feet". The lady was laughing.
At one of the first houses we went to the kids got the large-size juice boxes. They totally weighed down their halloween pumpkin buckets, so we had to help them carry them the rest of the way. They mostly got regular candy, but we did get a free movie rental too!

Rylee would get a little impatient waiting at the door. We would ring the doorbell and wait a few seconds, then she would yell "I'll get it" and start opening the door.

Of course we had to stop by aunt Margaret's house too, because she lives in our neighborhood. The girls were so excited to see her. They LOVE aunt Margaret!

After trick-or-treating we went to Aunt Tammy's house to trick-or-treat and visit for a minute, and then to Grandma Wales' house. Tammy is hilariouis, she would have a bowl full of fun-size candy bars, and when groups of kids came to the door she would give all of the bigger kids a fun-size candy, then she would give the smallest kid this giant size Kit Kat. All of the other kids faces would drop. It was so funny to watch!

Rylee LOVES her candy, so she of course could not wait to dump it out on Grandma's floor to see what she got. She opened one piece after the other without finishing any of them.

We hung out at Grandma's house for quite a while, then visited Dave & Kay to show off our costumes over there too. Here are the rest of our pictures:

Which Witch is Which?

We kicked off our Halloween Celebration yesterday afternoon with a Halloween party at Jaycee's preschool, trick-or-treating at Westech (where Craig works), and visiting the witches at Gardner Village. It was a ton of fun!!! Then we started off our Halloween morning with orange halloween pancakes. Yummy!

~TRICK-OR-TREAT~
The girls and I had never visited Craig at work, so it was so much fun to see him there and meet all of his co-workers while we went trick-or-treating.

All of the employees had bowls of candy at their desks for the kids to pick from. A lot of the employees dressed up too, so it was really fun. Rylee had a great time. At first she would wait for me to help her get the candy from people, but after a while she would just run from one bowl of candy to the next yelling "candy!... candy!" She couldn't get enough.

Jaycee was really tired. She had already had a busy day and I think her Halloween party at preschool wore her out, so after walking around a while she started asking us to carry her and she didn't even want to get the candy after a while. Because she was so tired we ended up skipping a lot of the building.

~Gardner Village Witches~
I love Gardner Village, and the girls had so much fun going on a "witch hunt" to find all of the cute witches around the different shops.

Tammy & Emily (Craig's sister and niece) came with us to Westech (because Jimmy works there too) and also to Gardner Village, but they didn't want to pose in our pictures. We sure had a great time with them though. They are some of my favorite people to hang out with.

I had a hard time getting good pictures because our camera isn't working well (that's another story...) so after I hit the flash button it would take a while for the picture to take. Needless to say that doesn't work so well with little children.

Here's one of the flying witches...

And the girls loved this hula-hooping one...

Jaycee liked hiding behind this one...

The other flying witch...

And we couldn't pass up the choo choo train. My girls both LOVE trains.

~HALLOWEEN PANCAKES~
This morning I attempted to make cute-shaped Halloween pancakes, but as you can see they are barely recognizeable. But the girls had fun with them anyway.
Before she could eat her pancakes I had to pry 2 suckers away from Rylee. While I was making the pancakes she had climbed up to get her candy from trick-or-treating last night.

We dunked them into syrup. I later decided that is NOT a smart idea with a 1-year-old. The entire table and my entire little one were covered with sticky-ness.

I am excited for more fun to come today. I love Halloween!

Family Fun

Sunday night my sister Janette and her two cute girls slept over because she didn't have a babysitter for Monday or Tuesday. they actually stayed 2 nights and we are having so much fun with them! Jaycee and Rylee love having their cousins here to play with.

Yesterday morning they got up and instead of dressing in their regular clothes they of course all had to dress up like princesses! Well, all but Brooklyn that is, but she still wanted to make sure everyone told her she was pretty! And she was.

They are still here having a great time. They've been playing dress up, barbies, baking us pies in the play kitchen, having "lesson time" and "story time", and of course giving me and grandpa plenty to clean up!

We are also having a blast living here with my niece, Chenylle, she is so much fun and my girls just love her. I have always been really tight with Chenylle so it perfect that she is living her while she goes to college.

Festive Fall Fun

Friday the girls got all dressed up in their Halloween costumes and went with a group of kids to Chancelor Gardens (an assisted living center) to deliver mini pumpkins they had painted to the residents there.

The girls had a lot of fun showing off their costumes and visiting with the residents, and the residents seemed to enjoy the visit too!

On Saturday Jaycee had a fun Halloween Party at her dance studio. They played lots of games and had a ton of fun! Everyone kept saying how much they loved Jaycee's costume. (there were a lot of Ute fans there).

Jaycee said her favorite part was the Donut game! She loved it.

Then on Sunday my family had a Halloween party. We had yummy chili, a costume parade with prizes, bobbing for apples (yuck!- I think that game is so gross), and more games.

Rylee wouldn't wear her witch dress, but she looked really cute in the hat!

And much to Jaycee's delight, this party had the donut game too! She just can't get enough of eating pastries off a string...

I love this holiday!!!
